This is my all time verse that the Lord shares with me on a regular basis…
(If not subtlety speaking to my heart, whack…. right up side my head)
While there are times that I get going in one direction thinking I’ve got it all figured out, I hit a roadblock. And my Saviour reminds me ……. my understanding is only in part..
As the New Year begins, I find myself wanting to throw a Pity Party…….. but can’t exactly find the right theme…. whether it is
Drowning with Nemo, or Walking the Plank with Pirates, Just poor pitiful me……. We lost our jobs in November of 07 and as of yet are still listed with the un-employed.
But boy has the Lord had a lot to say to me ……………….and now……
” He’s got me Wondering “
And I’ve got the time……
My hope as I use this website to share some of life’s ups and downs. That you might look to the one that I look to for my strength.
My Lord and Saviour Jesus……..
Hang on there may be some rough terrain whether we are on top of the water or below……My Lord, will provide what is needed………
Where does, My help come from? My help comes from the Lord, the maker of heaven and earth.. Psalms 121:2
I am in the Ascent of the Psalms Chapter 121 with Beth Moores lastest Bible Study “Stepping Up” and boy this is far better than where I was a short couple of days ago with “Woe is me” …………but how does the Lord do that?
Knows exactly where we are and brings His Word to be so , so relevant to our situations..
Talk about water, when I began this Bible Study my tears were continuous, I couldn’t stop crying from the hurt in my soul……….
How appropriate that the beginning of the Psalms of Ascent Chapter 120 is about “Distress”.
I had the privilege of going through the Book of Daniel with Beth Moore last year. And then also,……….. each lesson was so relevant to the situations that were in my life at the time… So be prepared to see what kind of “Stepping Up” the Lord has in store.

HERE IS ONE QUICK QUESTION FOR YOU?
I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW HOW YOU READ THIS? I ALREADY HAVE MY IDEAL… WHEN I WAS GOING THRU THE BIBLE I CAME ACROSS ECCLESIASTES 7:16
AND I FIND MORE BITTER THAN DEATH THE WOMAN, WHOSE HEART IS SNARES AND NETS, AND HER HANDSAS BANDS: WHOSO PLEASETH GOD SHALL ESCAPE FROM HER: BUT THE SINNER SHALL BE TAKEN BY HER.. (TO ME THIS WAS REALLY INTERESTING)
AGAIN I LOVE YOU LOTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hi Kim,
I know where you’re coming from. And it is truly interesting that the Lord places such precious information in His Word….
I am taking it that it is verse 26 and not 16 but before we try to figure this one out. Let’s examine the whole context of the verse.
Starting with verse 21
Ecclesiastes 7:21-26 (New International Version)
21 Do not pay attention to every word people say,
or you may hear your servant cursing you-
22 for you know in your heart
that many times you yourself have cursed others.
23 All this I tested by wisdom and I said,
“I am determined to be wise”—
but this was beyond me.
24 Whatever wisdom may be,
it is far off and most profound—
who can discover it?
25 So I turned my mind to understand,
to investigate and to search out wisdom and the scheme of things
and to understand the stupidity of wickedness
and the madness of folly.
26 I find more bitter than death
the woman who is a snare,
whose heart is a trap
and whose hands are chains.
The man who pleases God will escape her,
but the sinner she will ensnare.
Here is the verse in the Amplified Bible:
Ecclesiastes 7:26 (Amplified Bible)
26. And I found that [of all sinful follies none has been so ruinous in seducing one away from God as idolatrous women] more bitter than death is the woman whose heart is snares and nets and whose hands are bands. Whoever pleases God shall escape from her, but the sinner shall be taken by her.
Note this is Idolatrous and not Adulterous… but with that said.
Idolatrous is having other “gods“ …little g before them.
And Adulterous is the breaking of a commitment that was made before God big G………..
Since this is Solomon’s writings about “Wisdom,’ these verses are a list of some of his life experiences. When he has looking for “Wisdom” apart from God..
Note in the verse above (vs. 25) he mentions that he turned to his mind and I’m sure his past experiences………..hummmm…….
There are in fact women who seduce men and (visa versa) to the point that they forget about God. And usually one sin will lead to another, and then another and another, etc. You get the picture????
Let me conclude this response with:
Ephesians 1:16-18
16.I have not stopped giving thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers.
17. I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give you the Spirit[ of wisdom and revelation, so that you may know him better.
18. I pray also that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in the saints,
Your sister in Christ
WOW
WHO NEEDS A HAMMER IT WAS HIT RIGHT ON THE HEAD.
THANKS FOR ANSWERING I HAVE ALWAYS AMIRED YOUR KNOWLEDGE.
LOVE YOU LOTS
Love you too, Kim……..

After I had entered this comment, I opened one of my devotions from Charles Stanley and felt it appropiate to share:

January 10, 2008 — God’s Great Power — Romans 8:28-39
I was signing books one day when a young man came forward and told me a story as I autographed his copy. “I put a gun to my chest and was going to kill myself,” he began. “For some reason, I turned on the television, and there you were, talking about suicide. After listening for a while, I knew that the Lord was talking to me, so I laid the gun down and gave my life to Jesus Christ.”
I’ve heard similar stories too many times to count–someone in despair turns on the TV or radio and hears a sermon that speaks directly to his or her need. I don’t believe for one second that I am responsible. The Lord, who is all-powerful, intercedes in people’s lives. Sometimes He does this by leading them to turn on a program which can help. What’s more, only a God who can control all things could change a lost and scared young man into a willing and excited servant–and that’s exactly the kind of person who was standing in front of me that day at the book table.
The world talks about accidents, luck, and good fortune, but all of these terms imply that we are victims of circumstance. The truth is, God is sovereign and all the world is under His control. Anything that enters our life–whether it is blessing or trial–comes because the Lord has allowed it. When we encounter evil, we wonder why He does not put an end to it, because we know that He can. But God does have a purpose, and history has proven He produces good from even the ugliest of human tragedies.
How’s that for “Wonderful” ??
